The Bartow County Sherif''s Office Special Weapons and Tactics Team responds to critical incidents, which constitutes a serious threat to the lives and safety of others where specialized, knowledge, skills, and abilities are required to properly establish control of the situation. i.e.:

 

1.    Barricaded Subject: Any individual in a stronghold position who poses a threat to commit serious bodily injury or death to others or himself.

2.    Hostage: An individual held involuntarily by another person(s) through the actual or threatened use of force.
3.    Critical Incident: An unlawful situation of such a severe nature that the lives and safety of others are in immediate jeopardy.
