The Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task Force was formed in February 2008 and is presently comprised of law enforcement personnel from the Bartow County Sheriff's Office and the Cartersville Police Department. The Task Force is under the Command of Major Mark Mayton and Lieutenant Ryan Firth. The Task Force was formed in an effort to combat illegal drugs and violent crimes in Bartow County.

 

The mission of the Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task Force is to aggressively target, arrest and convict any individuals or organizations who possess, distribute, or manufacture illegal drugs in Bartow County as well as organized criminal activity.

 

The agents actively investigate and target the street level to upper level violator, to include major organizations that affect crime in Bartow County. The agent's responsibilities are, but not limited to, the undercover purchase of illegal drugs, long term investigations, vice operations, and the executions of drug related search warrants. The uniform officers are responsible for the street level violator, crime suppression, and criminal interdiction. The Task Force also works proactively with federal, state, and local agencies in an effort to efficiently combat illegal activity in Bartow County.
