Jail Quarantine Announcement
In response to some of the jail inmates coming back with positive Covid-19 tests we are quarantining the entire jail population effective today, October 14th. Even though these that have tested positive have been largely asymptomatic (not having bad symptoms like low oxygen levels etc.) we think it is prudent to quarantine to prevent the further spread.

You will still be able to do video visitation, phone calls, e-mails etc. with the folks in custody.

We have observed the mistruths that have been posted on social media the last couple of days, I can assure you that we are monitoring all the inmates in the facility and we are testing and following the state health departments guidelines and recommendations.

We provide medical care to the inmates that far exceeds what most of them receive while they are not in custody.

Please do not call and ask if your relative or loved one has tested positive, due to HIPPA regulations we cannot release this information to you. If the inmate tests positive they will be told the results of their test and they can share it with you if they wish.

Please do not believe everything you read on social media, some folks just like to spread rumors and panic when there is no need.

My jail staff and I took an oath, to protect and serve, this includes people who are incarcerated as well.

We take this oath very seriously and would never purposefully do anything to endanger the citizens of this county or their loved ones who might be in custody.
Your Sheriff, Clark Millsap
Bail Bonding Information
Welcome to the bail bonding information page. Here is the list of options that can assist you and your family members in bonding someone out of Bartow County Detention Center. All bonding transactions will take place at the Bonding/Visitation Center Lobby.
Bond Fee
In accordance with OCGA 15-16-21(c)(8), a $20.00 Sheriff’s Bonding Fee will be collected with each property or cash bond that is signed.

*Firearm Exception*
If a person(s) uses, brandishes or discharges a firearm during the commission of a crime, the Sheriff exercises his right for stricter bond requirements. In this case, property owners pledging property will have to demonstrate that they have sufficient equity in the property to secure the bond amount. Proper documentation such as tax assessments, Title Searches, loan papers and others deemed necessary will be presented prior to the bond being secured.

Listed below are four different options to bond someone out of the Bartow County Detention Center.

Use a Professional Bonding Company
If you use a professional bonding company, they will charge you 12% to 15% of the total bond. That is the fee they charge for signing the bond and you will NOT get this money back. The bonding company can also require that you put up some type of collateral to cover the bond amount. There are three bonding companies that have been approved by Sheriff Millsap to sign bonds in Bartow County.

Sign a Property Bond
To sign a property bond, you must own or be buying the property and it must be located in Bartow County (GA). When you come to sign the bond you must bring that year’s tax assessment papers and a photo identification card. The only subject that can sign the bond is the subject whose name is on the tax assessment papers. The assessed value of your property must be enough to cover the bond in question, not the fair market value. Once the bonded subject is totally finished with his/her case, then your property will be released from that bond. If the bonded subject does not show up for his/her court date, a lien will be placed on that property.
Sign a Cash Bond
To sign a cash bond you must bring a photo identification card and enough cash to cover the bond. We only accept paper money (no change allowed). Once the bonded subject is totally finished with his/her case, then you will get your money back. If the bonded subject does not show up for his/her court date, you will lose your money.
Transfer Bonds
We do accept transfer bonds from other counties in the state of Georgia. The bond must be approved through the county’s Sheriff’s Office where the property is located. Once the bond is signed, the other county will seal it in an envelope that must be hand delivered to the Bartow County Detention Center by the person who signed the bond. The person signing the bond must also bring a photo identification card with them when they deliver the sealed bond to us. Transfer bonds have the same stipulations as a property bond.
