Jail Officer

Qualified applicants will be assigned to provide and maintain security, safety, supervision, care and

control of inmates, facility and facility equipment

 

No experience is necessary.  
 

Salary and Benefits
Starting salary of $33,087.60 - $37,128.00 is dependent on education


 (in approved field of study), military and job experience.

In addition to being a U.S. citizen, applicants must be 18 years of age; have a high school diploma or GED;

possess a valid Driver’s License; stable employment history; honorable military discharge; no felony

convictions or pattern of misdemeanor convictions, including traffic violations. In addition, applicants

must provide acceptable or passing test scores from one of the following tests:


SAT, ACT, COMPASS, ASSET or ACCUPLACER.


  Applicant must pass a physical agility test; background investigation, which includes polygraph and

psychological; interview; and drug screen.

Physical Agility Test Requirements
​All exercises must be completed, if you quit or these exercises are not completed in the listed times, it is required to wait 6 months before testing again.

 

Sit-ups: 25 in two (2) minutes

Feet can be held during sit-ups if needed.

 

Push-ups: 15 in two (2) minutes

  • Male: Military Style Push-up

  • Female: Modified Military Style Push-up

Run: 1-Mile in thirteen (13) minutes

Mile run is after the push-ups and set-ups portion of the test.
